In partnership with the Oval Center and AIDS Center at Montefiore and the Phyllis B. Frank Pride Center of Rockland County, the Center offers affirming and confidential community based medical care for the LBGTQ+ community. All of the providers and staff are experts in LGBTQ+ healthcare and many are members of the community.

The Pride Wellness Center provides affirming and confidential medical care that focuses on the needs of the LGBTQ+ community (ages 16 and up) in a private, off-campus site in Nyack, NY.
Referrals available for those under 16, including care for Transgender, Non-Binary, and Gender Expansive young people.
- Confidential screening and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
- Gender affirming healthcare, gender affirming hormone therapy, and referrals for gender affirming surgery
- Gynecologic services for cisgender women, transgender men, and more, including birth control
- HIV testing and prevention, including Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP)
- Support services, including nursing, patient education, and health care navigation
- Vaccinations including hepatitis B, HPV, and others (excluding COVID)
Most insurances accepted. Financial assistance available with a sliding fee scale for uninsured individuals. Spanish-speaking providers and staff are available, and many are proud members of the LGBTQ+ community.

Our Health Educator-Navigator works directly with members of the LGBTQ+ community and patients living with HIV and has a vital role in the multidisciplinary care team by offering additional support to patients.
Support services include:
- Obtain referrals and appointments for trans-affirming education and care
- Facilitate referral follow up and adherence to appointments and medications
- Manage benefits navigation, including obtaining prior authorizations for specialties

Barry S. Zingman, M.D.
Medical Director of the AIDS Center at Montefiore Medical Center, the largest multidisciplinary and multispecialty adult HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention program in New York State.
Professor of Clinical Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, NY.
His career is devoted to the care of people living with HIV and those at risk, including LGBTQ+ populations, people of color, and those at risk for sexually transmitted infections.
Caryn Weiss, ANP-BC, MSN, MPA, AAHIVS
Adult Care Nurse Practitioner, who specializes in LGBTQ+ healthcare, HIV prevention and care for people living with HIV, at the Montefiore Oval Center and Center for Positive Living sites.
Her clinical experiences included rotations at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City at the height of the HIV epidemic.
Her clinical interest include working with the LGBTQ+ community to provide the best possible care with no bias or judgment and to encourage open and honest discussions between patient and provider.
Earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at City University’s Lehman College in Bronx, NY and her Master of Public Administration at New York University.
Completed training as an Adult Nurse Practitioner, receiving a Master of Science degree in Nursing at the College of Mount Saint Vincent in the Bronx.
Raffaele M. Bernardo, D.O., FACP, AAHIVS
Assistant Professor of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, NY.
Attending physician at both the Center for Positive Living and the Oval Center at Montefiore Medical Center.
Clinical Lead for The Oval Center’s HIV program, providing comprehensive HIV care aimed particularly at LGBTQ+ young adults.
Dr. Bernardo’s primary clinical interests include the diagnosis and treatment of chronic viral hepatitis, sexually transmitted infections and the treatment and prevention of HIV, particularly among the LGBTQ+ community.
Hilda Ortiz-Morales, NPc, DHA, AAHIVS, AACRN
Nurse practitioner at the Center for Positive Living/Infectious Diseases Clinic at Montefiore Medical Center for more than 20 years, specializing in HIV primary care, Hepatitis C virus (HCV) treatment and gender-affirming care for transgender individuals.
Nurse Manager of the Montefiore AIDS Center and its CPL and Oval Center sites.

Dr. Ortiz-Morales received her Master of Science in Nursing from the College of New Rochelle and her Doctorate of Health Care Administration from the University of Phoenix.
